About Me
(she/her)
I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Washington Information School. I am advised by Wanda Pratt and am a member of the iMed Research Group.
My research goals are to bring an informatics and patient-centered perspective to research on psychiatric hospitalization, and in the reverse, to bring attention to the needs of people with experiences of psychiatric hospitalization in the health informatics community.
My current work is on understanding and re-envisioning people's experiences of inpatient psychiatric care, in collaboration with Mad in America. This project is funded by an Innovation Grant from the Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions.
I received my BS in Computer Science and BA in English from George Fox University. In the past, I have done accessibility research with the Enable team at Microsoft Research, and software engineering research through the CRA-W DREU. I also had the honor of being a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow from 2021-2024.
